Black Theatre Live

A performance with music, dance & stories.

The eponymous Hervé is a French-African black actor, singer and dancer.  Born in Mali (North West Africa) of Malian parents, he was adopted at birth by a white Belgian couple who travelled the world.  This is his story.  Hervé takes the audience on an extraordinary and moving journey from Africa to Belgium, Cuba to the South of France, and Paris to the UK where he is currently living.  A highly entertaining piece on a deadly serious matter – diversity.

The show was nominated for an Edinburgh Fringe First award. Apart from Udderbelly at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, HERVÉ has been performed at the Drayton Arms Theatre (Bastille Festival), the Southbank Centre (Being A Man Festival), the Cockpit (Voilà! Festival), the Arcola (Grimeborn Festival), the Old Red Lion, Tara Arts, the Rosemary Branch Theatre and the Trinity Arts Centre, Leeds. The performance needs an empty space and basic lighting.
