ivo theatre: workshop for LGBTQ Asians at Tara Theatre
8 June 2018
Do you remember your first crush? The day you came out to your parents/siblings/friends? That evening when someone called you a dirty fag and ran away?
How can we empathise with, analyse, and celebrate these private memories so we can perform them for, a larger audience?
Through simple games and exercises exploring character work, and physical theatre, this workshop will utilise your strengths as a dancer/actor/poet/writer/artist, and help you towards discovering your unique storytelling style.
Open to LGBTQ Asian artists working in any medium and to those wanting to try to use the arts to express themselves for the first time.
Places are free but reservation required. Please email [email protected] to reserve your place.
Led by Vikrant Dhote, a Mumbai based performer, writer, creative producer and filmmaker. He studied at LISPA and was awarded the Gender Bender Performance Grant 2015, Best Emerging Filmmaker at KASHISH 2016, APQFFA Best Short Film at Taiwan International Queer Film Festival, and The Humsafar Trust Media Fellowship 2017.
